Every Leaf Counts Initiative!
There is a great story about a kid who is chided for throwing starfish that have washed ashore back into the sea. “What are you doing? There are 1000’s of fish that have washed ashore. You can’t make a difference”.
Picking up another starfish and tossing it into the water, he looks his critic in the eye and says: “it makes a difference to this one!”
We have planted hundreds of trees in the Pico Union neighborhood. Some of our critics have chided us with a similar critique. “What are you doing? You can’t make a difference”. For those of us who work or live in the PUP area we know better. We understand that making a difference happens one step, one person and one seed at a time.
Please join our campaign by sponsoring a leaf below. Every gift of $180 or more will receive an engraved leaf with your name to hang from our tree of life.
- Donations will go towards planting trees and other sustainability initiatives in the PUP community.
